Lois Lee Lepper, age 75, of 722
Country Club Heights, Quincy, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 2:05 pm in Blessing
Hospital.
She was born December 25, 1930 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter
of Wilferd and Irene Elizabeth Dix Stru b. On March 5, 1952 she married Richard L.
"Dick" Lepper in her home at 900 Madison, which was the Hermann Wilke / Wilferd
Strub home that was recently marked as one of Quincy's Historical Homes, and is noted as
the "Pride of the German Village". Dick preceded her in death on January 8,
1994.
She was a 1948 Quincy High School graduate and attended Gem City
Business College. She was a very active volunteer in Quincy including the Quincy Lampe
Hi-rise and Blessing Hospital where she was named volunteer of the month several times.
She was a member of Luther Memorial Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Linda Cummings and her husband,
Thomas of Macomb, IL; Lori Cookson and her husband, George of Dow, IL; a grandchild,
Matthew Cummings of Houston, TX; a brother, Gene Strub and his wife Margaret of Tampa, FL;
2 cousins, James Neal and his wife Audrey of Clearwater, FL; Mary Dickerman and her
husband Tony of Quincy; 4 nieces, Kathy Goodman; Kaaren Van Den Bogaert and her husband
Albert; Kaye Nixon and her husband Tom, Kristina Klein and her husband Charles, of Tampa,
FL; several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a
brother John Hermann Strub in infancy.
Services will be Monday, April 10, 2006 at 10:30 am in
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland Uden officiating. Visitation will be
Sunday, April 9 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Memorials made to Quincy Humane Society or Paw Pals in Lois' name would be greatly
appreciated.
