Lester Herman Heitman, age 62 of
1915 N. 1400th Ave., Camp Point, died Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 8:56 a.m. in Blessing
Hospital.
He was born December 19, 1943 in LaGrange, Missouri, the son of
Herman and Iona Begeman Heitman. On September 4, 1964 he married Virginia (Ginger) Booher
in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy. She survives.
Mr. Heitman was a 1961 graduate of Quincy High School. He served
in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He was employed as a Mintrate Assistant
Foreman at Moorman Mfg. Co. and retired after 30 years due to his illness. Lester was a
good family man and was able to build everything to last. He loved his family and
especially his granddaughter.
Survivors include a daughter, Heidi Heitman and a son Heath
Heitman both of Camp Point; a granddaughter Ashley Moore of Camp Point; a sister, Sandra
Peters and her husband Gary of Fowler, a nephew and God child, Trent Vogel and his wife
Emily of Quincy and a niece, Tiffeny Vogel of Quincy. He is also survived by numerous
other nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and
grandparents and his uncle Harold Begeman.
Services will be Monday, April 24, 2006, 11 a.m. in Hansen-Spear
Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Troxel officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial
Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be
made to the Dialysis Unit at Blessing Hospital or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
