Harold W. Bliven, age 87, formerly
of 2024 Van Buren, died Saturday morning , April 1, 2006, at 5:45 a.m. in Good Samaritan
Home.

He was born September 1, 1918 in Quincy, the son of William and
Dora Meyer Bliven.
On October 1, 1977, he married Mabel Alder Lincoln in
Florissant, MO. She preceded him in death December 31, 2003.
Mr. Bliven was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. He
worked at Quincy Stove Company as a stove mounter for 15 years, at Packaging Corp for 16
years as a foreman in the printing department, and at Firestone T & R for 12 years as
a machine operator in the Earth Moving Department. He was a member of Cedar Crest Country
Club, South Side Boat Club, and American Legion Post #37. He served in US Air Corps during
WWII.
Survivors are 2 sons, James Bliven and his wife Linda, Quincy;
Michael Bliven and his wife Beverly, Quincy; 5 grandchildren, Sherry Mixer and her fiance'
Chad Loos, Payson; Jennifer Peck and her husband Michael, Rochester, NY; Michael Joe
Bliven and his wife Betsy, Quincy; Anthony Bliven and his fiance' Misty, Quincy; and
Timothy Bliven and his wife Carrie, Ewing, MO; 5 stepgrandchildren Shana Sparks, Kirsten
Seals and her husband Chad and Kayli Sparks, all of Quincy; Jodi Rampley and her husband
Scott, Basco, IL; and Adam Roan and his wife Maxx, Montrose, Iowa; and 19 great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother
Willis Bliven and one sister, Dorothy Huelsmeyer.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy A. White officiating. The family will
receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount
Cemetery. Memorial contributions made to Trinity United Church of Christ or Blessing
Foundation for Hospice in Harold's name would be greatly appreciated.
