Maurice Donald Knollhoff, age 75 of
the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy, and formerly RR#1, Maywood, MO died Sunday, May 15,
2005 at 11:16 am in Blessing Hospital.
He was born December 13, 1929 in Hannibal, MO the son of Harry
Edward and Florence Mamie Kerr Knollhoff . He married Betty Lou Parrish on June 28, 1953
in St. John Lutheran Church, Hannibal, MO. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2002.
He was a 1947 graduate of Hannibal High School. He served in the
U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church
in LaGrange, MO. He worked for Electric Wheel Company for 16 years and was a member of
Machinist Local #822 and a member of VFW Post#5129 in Quincy. He was a former member of
St. James Lutheran Church in Quincy.
Survivors include 3 sons , Terry L. Knollhoff and his wife Terry
J. of Maywood, MO; Kevin Knollhoff and his wife Paula of Maywood, MO; Bryan Knollhoff and
his wife Jill of Stanton, KY; 12 grandchildren, Teri Marie Knollhoff of Hickory, NC;
Charles Edward Knollhoff of Hickory, NC; Jennifer Sue Knollhoff of Lewistown, MO; Rebecca
Veth of Jefferson City, MO; Kimberly Carter of Maywood, MO; Frederick Whitman of
Carbondale, PA; Alexander Mitchell, Jr. of Carbondale, PA; Teresa Ennis, Cheyenne,
Wyoming; Beth Wagner, Quincy; Guy Williams, Quincy; Matt Williams, Payson; and Stephanie
Pruitt, Quincy; 19 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Helen Virginia Francis and her husband
William of Kansas City, MO; a brother Jim Nobie, Stoutsville, MO; and several nieces and
nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Etta and Virginia
Crabtree and a brother Harold.
Services will be Wednesday, May 18, at 1:30 p.m. in the
Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Lohse officiating. Burial will be in Durham
Cemetery, Durham MO. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.
