Gary G. Huckstep

Gary G. Huckstep, 68, 421 Evergreen West, Quincy, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at 11:25pm in his home.

He was born May 15, 1932 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Charles Elmer and Ruby Esther Garrett Huckstep. On May 14, 1960, he married Donna Jean Suck in Quincy, IL. She survives.

He was a 1950 graduate of Quincy High School. He served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 as a fireman at Pensicola Naval Air Station. He was employed by Moorman Mfg. for 37 years until his retirement in 1993.

He was a member of Madison Park Christian Church for more than 29 years, and he was a volunteer at Blessing Hospital. Mr. Huckstep was a 32nd degree Mason belonging to Lambert Lodge and Quincy Consistory. He was a member of the American Legion Post 37.

Survivors in addition to his wife are a son, Gary Scott Huckstep and his wife Ramona, Holts Summit, MO; daughter, Michelle Pullam and her husband Marc, Quincy; 4 grandchildren, Stevi, Raylnn, Shawn and Nathanael Pullam, all of Quincy; a brother, Don Huckstep and his wife Mary, Quincy; a sister, Barbara Huckstep, Quincy; a sister-in-law , Velma Morris and her husband Neal, Morris, Milan; a brother-in-law, Lester Sanders and his wife Florence, Gladstone, MO; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 17, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Bruce Willard officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois with military rites by the American Legion Post 37. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Friday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association and\or Madison Park Christian Church .
