Geraldine Duncan, 83, 200 W. Martin Ave.,
Naperville, (formerly of 717 Van Buren)died Monday, January 22, 2001 at the Manor Care
Nursing Home, Naperville, Illinois.
She was born March 18, 1917 in Knox City, Missouri, the daughter of Willie and Blanche
Goodwin Parrish.
On June 24, 1933, she married William K. Duncan in Edina, Missouri. He preceded her in
death on January 8, 1991.
She was the executive housekeeper at Blessing Hospital until she retired in 1981. She was
a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 40 years where she had attended and taught Sunday
School and was a former member of the Ladies Missionary Group. .
She was the wise counselor and confidant for all generations of her family.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Wilma Dix and her husband Richard, Naperville, IL; Phyllis
Klocke and her husband Gene, Montgomery, AL; 6 grandchildren, Bill Dix and his wife Julie,
Kentwood, MI; Brian Dix and his wife Lauri, Lisbon, Portugal; Elizabeth Dix , Naperville,
IL; Jeff Klocke and his wife Kim, Georgetown, KY; Jill Hooks and her husband Randy,
Montgomery, AL; Jane Klocke, Birmingham, AL; 9 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Beulah
Graham, La Plata, MO; Dorothy Frese, Quincy; June Young and her husband Robert, Quincy.
She was preceded in death by her son Jackie Dean Duncan.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 25, at the Calvary Baptist Church,
Rev. L. D. Grant officiating. Burial in Lima Cemetery, Lima, Illinois.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
and Thursday from 9 to 10AM at Calvlary Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made
to DuPage Hospice or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
