Leona Louise “Sally” Settle, age 93 of 1440 N. 10th Street, Quincy, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 10:10 a.m. in St. Vincent’s Home.
She was a member of Salem Evangelical Church of Christ and was baptized there on March 13, 1930.
Some of Sally’s fondest memories were from the restaurant they owned, “Jax Grill”. She watched the kids from the grill grow from carefree teens into their military uniforms, so starched and proud to serve. She posted their photos and letters for all to enjoy as they devoured the famous fries and cheeseburgers. Her hobby was taking photos of which, there are many baskets and boxes dating back to her childhood. She has left a wonderful legacy for all of us. She kept all those photos in a special album and we whiled away many hours with her enjoying those trips down memory lane.
