Helen E. Bauer, age 95, of 903 Pawn Ave., died Monday (April 16, 2012) at 6:52 am in her home.
She was born October 26, 1916 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of John H. and Emma
Nuessen Wiskirchen. On May 21, 1941 she married Francis C. Bauer in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death January 21, 2006.
A licensed funeral director, she and Mr. Bauer were the owners of Bauer Funeral Home until their retirement. Mrs. Bauer was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Francis and Ladies of Charity. She was also a member of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association..
Survivors include 2 daughters Mary Jane Bauer and JoAnn Bauer of Quincy, a sister-in-law Alice Wiskirchen of Sun City, AZ, a niece Kay Wiskirchen (Henry) Wimberg of Mayer, AZ, and a nephew and godchild Bruce (Debi) Wiskirchen of Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Lawrence “Larry” Wiskirchen and a niece Larrie Ann Wiskirchen Theis.
Services: 9:30 am Thursday (April 19) prayers in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10 am in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church with the Rev. James Wheeler, O.F.M., Rev Roy Bauer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation: 4-7 pm Wednesday (April 18) with a Rosary at 6:30 pm at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
Memorials: St. Francis Solanus Church or St. Francis School.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I truly enjoyed taking care if your mother. She was one of a kind and touched the hearts of many. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. If I can get away on a break or something Wednesday during the visitation I will definitely be by to pay my condolences.
