Charles Henry “Chuck” Schralla, age 89, of 2017 Madison, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 5:00 pm in his home.
Charles was born November 27, 1922 in California, the son of Emil “Babe” and Hattie Opal Rothenstein Schralla He married Patricia Blersch on March 2, 1946 in St. Boniface Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2004.
Chuck was a 1941 Q.H.S. graduate. He served in the United States Army Quartermaster Corps from 1943 to 1945. Chuck worked as a grinder in the tool and die making department for Electric Wheel. He retired in 1984 after 41 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fishermen, Ducks for the Future, and United Commercial Travelers. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include: his daughter, Carol (Jerry) Kroner of Quincy; his son, David (Diane) Schralla of Quincy; five grandchildren: Matt (Jenny) Kroner of Quincy; Andrew (Nicole) Kroner of Apex, NC; and Cole, Dani, and Ashley “Half Pint” Schralla, all of Quincy; and four great-grandchildren: Lauren and Brianna Kroner, both of Apex, NC; and Sammy Kroner and Aubrey Waterkotte, both of Quincy.
In addition to his wife, Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
Services: Prayers 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass at Blessed Sacrament Parish, with Monsignor Michael Kuse officiating.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery
Visitation: Sunday April 29, 2012 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm with a prayer service at 4:45 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
