Bill D. Florey, age 81, of 800 Eagle Trace, died August 23, 2011, at 8:45 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid wood carver and a member of the Gulf Coast Wood Carvers. Bill taught wood carving classes in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Bill was a former owner of Alliance Pattern in Keokuk, Iowa. He was member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Bill enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida for many years.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three children, Jennifer (Terrell) Mulford of St. Charles, MO, Steve Florey of Decatur, IL, and Scott Florey of Park Forest, IL; three grandchildren, Aaron Mulford of Richmond Heights, MO, Megan Mulford of St. Charles, MO, and Madison Florey of Park Forest, IL; three sisters, Marylyn VanBlair of Lockport, IL, Suzanne (Willis) Bergman of Quincy, IL, and Kay (Tom) Tushaus of Quincy; a brother, Daniel (Janis) Florey of Midlothian, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sally Florey and Linda Garrison.
Services: 10:00 am Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev. Martin Eden officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
Visitation: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday August 26, 2011 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
