Alonzo Ray “Lonny” Carlin, age 58, of 108 Monahan Dr., Ft. Walton Beach, FL and formerly of Kahoka, MO and Carthage, IL, died May 22, 2012, at 7:43 a.m. in his residence.
Lonny was born March 24, 1954 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Virgil Ray and Esther Louise Rockhold Carlin. He had been married to Melanie Whitaker.
Lonny served in the U.S. Army. He was a construction worker and truck driver in Carthage where, he had also been a firefighter and was active with the V.F.W. He moved to Ft. Walton Beach, FL 12 years ago and did construction & heavy equipment work for Bearden Construction. Lonny was active with veterans in Carthage, IL.
Survivors include his father, 2 sons; Jared (Katie) Carlin of Mukwonago, WI, and Ryan (Jessica) Carlin of Quincy, IL, a grandson; Tobias Carlin of Mukwonago, WI, 5 siblings; Rose Trueblood of Memphis, MO, Kevin Carlin of Canton, MO, Pam Morss of Farmington, IA, Bobby Carlin of Taylor, MO, and Waneva “Sissy” Marriott of Clearmont, MO and several nieces & nephews. Alonzo was preceded in death by his mother.
Services: Friday, June 1 at 4:00 pm in the Conference Center at The Crossing, in Quincy, IL, with Pastor Jim Dennis officiating.
Visitation: Friday, June 1, 2012 from 2-4 pm in the Conference Center at The Crossing in Quincy, IL.
